Strike Day

Jack's school was on strike to day so Daddy looked after him while doing his emails! Thanks to WiFi in lots of places (McDonald for example - though touch screens do not work very well when eating in McDonalds).

GPS log traces

Here are my GPS traces from the weekend. First one is a short ski trace and the second one is a longer snowboarding trace. Max speed on the GPS said 56kph but in the software it says 44kph, go figure :) I'm just learning so will have it figured out by the end of the day, hopefully.

[EDIT] Figured that is all down to how the speed data is averaged (over 1 second, 10 seconds etc....) - 56kph is one second average and 44kph is 15 second average.

A wet and misty weekend

It was a wet and misty weekend up in the mountains so we went out for a bit of skiing between the clouds and rain. No sun though. So the photos this week are taken inside.

Topsy Turvy Climate

Weird that is is warmer skiing at 1800m than windsurfing this week! Windsurfing in <10>15 degrees. Go figure....

Carnaval

Jack was dressed as IronMan for the school Carnaval.

Jack was second into the class this morning and first to the door. It was hard to get photos this year as we could not get into the class.

Baptism of Fire

First day windsurfing this year and I chose a good day - lashing rain, 6 degrees (air) and 12 degrees (water), 45 knots with gusts at 55-60 knots, on shore wind with large dumping waves. I was totally overpowered and just happy to gybe.....

On the way home, I was one of the last to drive down the coast road before they closed it due to the waves breaking on the road.





We were not many out, about 10 of us and not many of us getting out the back.
